IlaiyaRaaja Musical Genius

           

 Before you guys start reading this, I want to mention everyone, I’m a person who loves music and there are so many people who makes music but there is only one person who creates music. Dedicated to IlaiyaRaaja sir for accompanying me throughout my life, no matter where I’m or in what state I’m in; it’s always your songs which reverberate in my ears.

(First and foremost here is a list of songs I have mentioned so that you get to know about the caliber of the man and the hold he has in music, yet he tells that he doesn't know music.)

The list goes on...

            Here is man who has composed music for nearly 1000 films in his carrier yet no two songs resembles each other, yet he tells that his songs are inspired from others. He has been composing music for more than 40 years and has composed more than 6,000 songs, imagine this for over 10000 preludes, interludes, themes or BGM'S that would take ones breath away. We can easily have over 10000 new tunes with his preludes and interludes alone. Most of his songs can be simply identified with an interlude or a prelude( En eniya pon nilave). He has everything for every sentiment. Each soundtrack of his is a story. That is perhaps the reason why while you remix his song it still doesn't come close to his original. There is little of the man you would distinguish behind those simple clothes, and his controlled movements. You might have to take a closer look at his face and not miss that enigmatic smile, which obscures more than it reveals. His eyes capitulates it all. It reflects the brilliance, the honesty and the purity of his music. Just like you yield to his music, you surrender to this prodigy.

            I firmly believe that God of music has created and blessed him. His songs live with us every day, every hour and every minute of our life. For each and every feeling on this earth there will be an IlaiyaRaaja song to listen and cherish. The happiness he provided for the past 40 years and still providing is no match to anything which he receives. 

            As a music enthusiast, I find IlaiyaRaaja sir’s music most fascinating but at the same time complicated. Before one could get a hold onto a particular sound of an instrument in a song there would be several sounds from various instruments left unnoticed. One has to listen to infinite number of times to know the hidden meaning and the feel he creates through those instruments.

            The magic that he creates with his fingers simply cannot be recreated, one has to just sit back and listen and get lost in the world of music. It’s our pride that he has born in our era and in our country. He is the only composer who made us realise that music is not just for entertainment, music has the power to travel with you, accompany you, help you. There is a lot to learn from music, from his music and make our lives as beautiful as his music.         

            I also feel sad that he has born in our country where everyone thinks music is just pure entertainment; music can’t touch any soul or heal inner wounds, his music remains intact in our region and could not be celebrated worldwide. I feel that that being born here is IlaiyaRaaja sir’s fate and our blessings.
